We offer the following research and student training programmes: 

-    Chemistry and physics of metal ions in biological systems such as metalloproteins,

     metalloenzymes and DNA. This is important because more than one third of all proteins

     contain metals such as iron, copper or zinc without which the proteins could not work.

-    Studies of these important and exciting molecules at a level where we can see the single

     molecule in direct chemical or biological action.

-    Work towards biosensors and other interesting devices where we can make the single

     molecules do interesting things that we want them to do.
